Here's What's Up, dawg.

Welp Friends,

I suppose my window for procrastinating is steadily coming to a close. If a wait any longer it’ll cease to be window at all. Perhaps it will be a wall. Or a door. Or a portal into another world I’m not at all ready to see.

Regardless of the potential future of my procrastination window, I am here. I am here to do the thing I had planned on doing a whole long while ago. Four months even.

Examine Exhibit A: Written January 1, 2019

“Hullo my friends !
It is a new day. A new year. A new turning of the leaf. Which makes one wish to set goals, realize dreams, and update those who may be curious and interested in that process. It’s a big year, 2019. I have officially entered my 30s and my dear friend, Mary, has worked a solid 12 years at the same grown up job. We are single. We are unattached. And we are the Peter Pan generation.”

Pretty juicy stuff, eh? A real cliff hanger. What will happen next?

I give you, Exhibit B: Written January 25, 2019

“Buongiorno, come stai? Tutto va bene?
Can you believe it’s January 25th already? I knew the time would go by fast, and yet it seemed like it couldn’t go fast enough. Now it’s confirmed, it’s going too fast.”

Wow. What a profound truth. Time DOES go by fast. Sometimes. And I was able to cut to the heart of that right at the get go. No easing you into the truth in these parts. Here we hit you with it right out the gate.

If you managed to persevere to this point, here’s the sitch (short for situation, but how do you shorten that? “Here’s the sit”?) So here’s the sit: Mary and I (and if you don’t know who Mary is then...who are you??! Really, who are you? That’s an important question we all must answer. For the world and for ourselves). Where was I? Ah yes, the reason Communism wasn’t a successful form of government is because people are not inherently selfless and moral. Though it was founded with the intent of giving an equal quality of life to all, people will ultimately corrupt anything for selfish gain. Disagree? Refer back to Exhibit B.

Have I made myself clear? In conclusion, Mary and I have quit our jobs to embark on a different way of living this temporary temporal life we all lead. No three car garages for these gals. Probably. Unless the Lord clearly makes it clear that a three car garage is his will for us, or one of us, or for none of us. And sometimes it is.

But for now, we’re heartily adding our names to the list of Vagabonds Anonymous. We depart April 30, 2019 for ROMA! Ciao Bella! Io sono una ragazza! Per favore, non toccarmi. From there we’ll be traversing a splattering of European countries over the span of the next 6 months. When we get back to the States United, however, it’s not back to desks jobs and nine to fives. Unless it is. Work to live, not live to work, we say. But in all things, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. We hope to work enough to fund the next adventure, whatever it may be, and in everything, at all times, share the gospel and make disciples of all nations.

Life is freaking short, my friends. And nothing, I mean NOTHING matters as much as figuring out if God exists and what He wants of you.

That’s the thesis of this paper. Which was pretty obvious from everything else I said, I think.

Stay thirsty, Comrades, and as always, I love you.
